What does it smell like?
Our Vanilla Body Butter has a soft, sweet, comforting scent. Some describe it as smelling like fresh vanilla pods or even cupcakes, but it’s subtle and not overpowering.
Are those black specks in the balm normal?
Yes! Those are natural vanilla seeds used to infuse the balm. They’re a sign of the raw, unrefined ingredients we use and are completely safe (and lovely) on your skin.
How do I use it?
Scoop a small amount and warm it between your fingers. Apply to clean skin - hands, body, wherever you need deep hydration. Always use clean, dry fingers when applying. A little goes a long way.
How should I store it?
Keep your balm in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight. Because we don’t use preservatives, it’s important to avoid introducing water into the tin.
Will it make my skin feel greasy?
Not if used correctly. This balm is rich and concentrated, so you only need a small amount. Start with less, you can always apply more. It melts into the skin and absorbs beautifully when used sparingly.
Will it clog my pores?
No. Tallow is non-comedogenic and closely matches your skin's natural sebum. Combined with lightweight oils like jojoba and Kalahari melon seed, this balm supports skin health without clogging pores, making it suitable even for acne-prone or reactive skin.
Is it safe for sensitive skin or babies?
Yes. It’s free from synthetic fragrance, preservatives, and essential oils. While the vanilla infusion gives it a gentle scent, it’s still suitable for sensitive skin. Always patch test on little ones if unsure.
Why do my balms look different?
We use only raw, natural ingredients and make everything in small batches, you may notice slight differences in texture, colour, or scent from time to time. Nature isn’t uniform, and neither are we.
Does it contain preservatives?
No. This balm is anhydrous (contains no water) and made with naturally stable oils and butters. That means no preservatives are needed—just keep the tin dry and clean, and you’re good to go.
